I wasn’t tagged, but I really wanted to do this one because it looked fun. I first saw it over at Chrystal’s blog Paper Royalty.
11 questions about my GoodReads page and habits, so lets dive in.
WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS ‘READ’?
Easy. Finished it last night.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I will add another one tonight I think but right now I’m reading three books.
Hunger by Knut Hamsun – currently my lunch book. I have an hour for lunch but I usually only get 30 min to actually read if I ever get to read. So it’s slow progress.
The Power by Naomi Alderman – I borrowed this from Libby the Library app, but I didn’t finish it before I had to give it back. So it’s currently on hold and I hope I can get a copy in a week or two because it was really good, and I want to know what happens.
Fluent Forever by Gabriel Wyner – my current reading challenges have put my language learning on hold so it’s there, but I’m not reading it at the moment.
WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS TBR?
By the time this blog is up there will probably be others on top of these, but right now my Want-to-read list filtered with descending add-date looks like this:
WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO READ NEXT?
Magic Study by Maria V Snyder
I hope I can start it tonight, but I need to make myself some hot chocolate and popcorn first 😊
YOU USE THE STAR RATING SYSTEM?
Yes, I do. And this is what they mean to me:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Blew my mind! WOW!!! AMAZING! Love it!!❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – That’s great. really enjoyed that. There were a few things that were off to me, but generally quite good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ – OK. or it could be a disappointing book.
⭐️⭐️ – Nope… not for me
⭐️ – This is horrible!
I mostly give out 4⭐️, but I also give out 3⭐️ and 5⭐️. I have never given a 1⭐️, and I rarely give 2⭐️.
ARE YOU DOING A 2018 READING CHALLENGE?
Yes! It’s the biggest challenge I have ever set myself, and I’m charging ahead. I did a quick plan of my challenge in a previous post which you can check out.
At this speed, I could potentially end up with around 100 books!! 😱
Now, let’s be honest – I have a full-time job, but I don’t have much of a social life because I prefer to read. This means I have a lot of time to read 😁
Also, I want to do NaNoWriMo again this year, which means I need to get ahead or potentially finish by mid-October.
DO YOU HAVE A WISH LIST?
I would like to own all my favourite books, but I need a library for that…
WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO BUY NEXT?
Binti by Nnedi Okorafor – the whole series, please.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE QUOTES?
WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?
J. K. Rowling
Neil Gaiman
Radclyffe Hall
Holly Black
Patrick Rothfuss
Sarah J. Maas
HAVE YOU JOINED ANY GROUPS?
I have joined a few, but I’m not very active in them. The ReadHarder one is my most used group due to the challenge and the reading suggestions that pop up in the comments.
That’s it. Have you done this tag before? Feel free to do it if you want to 😊
I hate it when I’m unable to finish library book before the time is up and need to wait before getting it again. Also I’ma huge popcorn eater while reading and have to actually buy some more since my stash is running low 😅🙈

I know. I find myself doing recaps of the story so far whilst waiting for the book to become available again, just in case I would forget 🤦♀️ popcorn is the best snack. I pop my own cause it easier. You? Also, sweet or salty popcorn?

I use the ones you just pop in the microwave though I burn them quite often 🙈 salty once are my favorite! Which one do you like better?

I actually just subscribed to Book Riot’s pod casts. I’m not a huge pod cast fan, but I’m dabbling in them a little bit 🙂
