June TBR and reading plan

I’m not 100% what I want to read in June. I have one holiday planned for the end of June but otherwise, it’s going to be a lot of work and major deadlines so I would need some escapism.

With that in mind, I will have to read some from my ReadHarder Challenge so I don’t fall behind, some ARCs so I don’t have too many waiting and some for the Try A Chapter Tag I did so I can finally get them out of the way. Then there are all the other books I really want to read… (obviously) 🙄 🤦‍♀️😂

I’ve set myself 7 books this month which I hope I’ll read without problems. Then I’ve added a few books which I’m hoping to get to or that I might get to. Also if my mood changes throughout the month I have the might get to as a backup list of fun books 🙂

My TBRs are guidelines only, not a strict rule. But I feel I need them so I manage to get through all the books I need to get through. I need to be organised! There are too many books.

Again the link for each book title brings you to their GoodReads page where you can read the synopsis. Enjoy!

From My ARC Shelf

All my ARCs are provided with thanks by NetGalley and their publishers. Thank you!

Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney – Publication date 14 February 2017. A long-lost heir, a magical war, a mad king, and supernatural humans? yeah, I’ll read that. The premise reminds me a bit of Red Queen. Considering it’s still on NetGalley over a year after it is published, doesn’t give me much confidence in a high rating.

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik – YES!! This comes out on July 12th (I believe). I will be on holiday then so I really want to read it and write a review before then.
I loved Uprooted so much! I just hope this lives up to my expectation.

The Night Fogs by Frances Hay – Publication date 5th July 2018. It sounds like a fantasy version of The Mist but has got some good reviews on NetGalley so I’ll give it a try.

The Book of M by Peng Shepherd – Published 28th June. This sound really cool! Basically, the premise is that after a mysterious natural disaster peoples shadows seems to disappear and shortly thereafter their memories.

From My Try A Chapter Challenge

Snake Ropes by Jess Richards – Situated in a dystopian version of the Scottish islands, children seems to disappear into thin air. Following two girls from very different places in society as mysterious things starts to happen.

Thief’s Magic by Trudi Canavan – I mean sorcerer-archaeologists! Do I need to say more?

For My ReadHarder Challenge

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote – I have already started this book, but it is my lunch book so it will take forever to read. I only get 1h for lunch and I have a few friends who really like to talk during lunch (even though I sat there first and they know I’m reading 😡). Anyway, it’s going to take some time to read this, but so far (I’m 120 out of 870 Kindle pages in…lol) it’s actually interesting 🙂

I Need To Finish Already!

None this month. I’m on top of things! Well done me!!

Hoping To Get To

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima – Part of the Try a Chapter Tag. I got quite emotionally invested during that first chapter so I’m hoping I can get to this sometime this month.

I Might Get To

Fire Study by Maria V Snyder – This is the last in the trilogy and I really do want to get around to it soonish. I feel I have this on my “hoping to get to” list for several months now… I should probably move it to the “I need to finish already” section… Hopefully, I’ll read it while I’m on holiday 😊

The Inquisition by Taran Matharu – I hope I can continue with this series as I really loved book 4 and 1 (lol). I did a review of book 4, the prequel, here.

Rising Storm by Ceri A Lowe – this is written by a friend of a friend and was originally self-published. She is now officially published and I really want to read it. The premise is: What if the end was only the beginning? It’s dystopian. And that’s all I know 🙂

So that’s it guys! Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Have you read any of these before? What did you think? No spoilers, please!

Now you’ll excuse me but I have reading to do…

  1. I haven’t read anything recently by Trudi Canavan but am her big fan. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

And I finished Spinning Silver and really enjoyed it. Hope you will too!

    Happy reading. 🙂 📚
