WWW Wednesday – 24th October

I didn’t get to read anything over the weekend as I had visitors. So my progress is a lot less than what it normally would be.

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

What are you currently reading?

Empress of All Season by Emiko Jean – I’m about 1/2 way through and loving it! The main character is just badass 💪

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy – This is the longest read on my ReadHarder challenge this year. and I’ve just started it… I’m hoping to finish it before the end of the year. It’s my lunch book so it will last until Christmas, and then I’ll have to finish the rest during Christmas. But that is was Christmas is for; reading 😁

  • 17th October – started
  • 24th October – 77/3885 eBook pages done

The Silk Road: A new history of the world by Peter Frankopan – I’m listening to this on audiobook at a slow and steady pace. I’m hoping to finish this sometime before Christmas 😂 so it will be featured a lot on my WWW posts. I’ve got 1h 29min left (out of 24h) so I’ll probably finish this today. I’m somewhere in the 80s/90s and the Middle East conflict. It’s very interesting!

What did you recently finish reading?

Nothing really. Though I have officially given up on Deepest Blue by Mindy Tarquin – DNF’d

What do you think you’ll be reading next?

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas – it came out on the 23rd and I’ve already gotten it downloaded and ready to be listened too. But I’m a bit cautious. This does mean the end and I’m not sure if I’m ready 😳

What are you currently reading? Any good?

Until next time 😁

  1. If there’s anyone absolutely ready for Kingdom of Ash I need their secrets, hahah. My physical copy won’t arrive until November 7th or 8th, but I’m really thinking about getting the ebook soon. :’) The longer I have to wait, the bigger the chance of being spoiled and I don’t want that to happen.

And your post reminded me I have yet to.. figure out my review for Empress of All Seasons. I finished it two weeks ago or something and I still haven’t written my review – oopsie! :’)

    1. Yup I have already started to see reviews pop up and I don’t want any spoilers. I’m gonna finish mine over the weekend and dedicate the whole weekend to it 😁 it’s going to be an emotional ride tho. Might call in sick on Monday due to heartache 😂

Yes get on it. I want to know! Tho I won’t read it before I finish the book but still 😊

      1. Hah, same. I just skip right past them. Still haven’t gotten the ebook but it’s bound to happen. I don’t have to work next week so it’s.. actually the perfect time since I’ll have time to get over that book if I finish it?

Haha, I’m doing my best! 😀

      2. 😂😂 I’ve planned for the book hangover too! I plan to finish it this weekend and I have nothing more to read before Lalathon which started on the 1st November (Thursday). So I have some time to recover. I’m anticipating a serious level of emotions. So yeah I think you’ve planned it well: time to read it and time to recover 😂😁

      3. Hahaha, awesome! I’m simply going to use this as my excuse to buy the book before leaving on holiday – so Monday at the LATEST. I know I’ll fly through the thing, even though it’s a whopping 1000 pages but.. like.. I can never stop reading Maas’ books once I get lost in them so I should finish it fairly quickly. :’)

      4. Exactly! It’s a great excuse 😂 You’ll fly through it, no problem. I hope you love the book and the holiday and I look forward to see what we both think of this ending to a long series. Happy reading 😁

  2. Anna Karenina caught my interest but the length scared me off haha. Maybe one day! It’ll be a little while before I read Kingdom of Ash but I’m heaps excited for it! Happy reading!

    1. Yes it’s very long! Hopefully it will be interesting too. Yay! Ive already seen some reviews pop up so if you don’t want spoilers i suggest thread carefully around the net. I suspect they will start popping up soonish 😬 happy reading to you too!

    1. Thanks! Yeah I wasn’t sure what to make of the synopsis either but it’s turning out good 😊 I’ve actually started Kingdom of Ash 😳 even tho I’m reading Empress of all seasons. I just couldn’t stop myself. I need to know 😬 I’ll finish it by next week I think… it’s good tho. So many threads that need to come together tho. I don’t know how she’s going to do it… 🤔 I hope you get to it soonish 😁 before you see any spoilers.
