WWW Wednesday – 21st November

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

I have derailed my 4 books at a time limit. I’m reading 5 books at the moment…

What are you currently reading?

Small Island by Andrea Levy – TomeTopple and office book club pick for Black History Month. I have finally started and I’m about a quarter through.

Lighter Than My Shadow by Katie Green – TomeTopple graphic novel about having an eating disorder. I about a quarter through and its a really quick read considering its a graphic novel, but it’s also a good insight to having an eating disorder.

Selfish, Shallow and Self-absorbed edited by Megan Daum – Essay anthology by 16 writers on the reason why they don’t want children. 16 writers 16 opinions. I don’t want kids, but I’m open to changing my mind. I know a lot of people are not. I picked this collection for ReadHarder Challenge 2018 for that reason; to understand all the different reasons why some people don’t want kids, ever. And I’m learning.  There are many different ways of being a parent. There are just as many different ways of being a non- parent. Progress 1/16 done.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater – this is a book I started for LALAthon. I didn’t finish, but I’m halfway and loving it. I have not made any progress on this since LALAthon. but I will finish it before the end of the month. (Progress 52%)

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy – This is the longest read on my ReadHarder challenge this year. and I’ve just started it… 🤦‍♀️ I’m hoping to finish it before the end of the year. It’s my lunch book so it will last until Christmas, and then I’ll have to finish the rest during Christmas. But that is was Christmas is for; reading 😁 Here is the current Anna Karenina progress:

  • 17th October – started
  • 24th October – 77/3885 eBook pages done
  • 7th November – 160/3885 eBook pages done (4%)
  • 14th November – no progress
  • 21st November – 267/3885 eBook pages (7%) This is going to take forever…

What did you recently finish reading?

The Colour of Madness edited by Samara Linton – an anthology by BAME artists in the UK with a focus on mental health. This anthology is a mixture of art forms from paintings, poems, nonfiction and fiction short stories. It’s was truly fascinating! I did a full review of this.

What do you think you’ll be reading next?

Nothing!! I will finish all the books I have already started!

The right question should be: which book do you think you’ll finish next?

Answer: I hope it’s Small Island but it will more likely to be Lighter Than My Shadow.

I’m hoping to finish at least Small Island, Lighter Than My Shadow, and The Dream Thieves before the end of the month 🤞🤞

What are you currently reading? Any good?

Until next time 😁
