This Sunday tag is created and run by Steph over at A Little But A Lot. There are some very interesting and fun prompts coming up this spring so check it out. Today s topic is Favourite Illustrator.
I love illustrated books and I have my absolute favourites both for my childhood and present time.
Anyway, let’s dive into the list of my 6 favourite illustrator in no particular order.
Jim Kay
How doesn’t like the Harry Potter illustrated editions? All illustrations are done by Jim Kay and I loved these. He also did “A Monster Calls” which I also love.
Quentin Blake
We all know Quentin Blake’s illustrations of Roald Dahl’s famous stories. I grew up to these and love them to bits.
Tove Janson
Again this is something I grew up with and it’s the Moomins.
A. A. Milne
Who doesn’t love Winnie The Pooh? He is so cute and as an adult, I find he has some seriously deep issues to talk about.
Elsa Beskow
I grew up with these illustrations and was surrounded by book illustrated by Elsa Beskow, but until recently I never knew what her name was. Now I do. I really want to collect these books because I love the illustrations and all the memories. I think The Flowers’ Festival was my favourite book illustrated by her.
Yoshi Yoshitani
I know this illustrator from the Monstress graphic novels which I loved. My favourite part of the graphic novel was the art work and I definitely are going to keep buying and reading this series.
Which illustrator is your favourite?
Is there someone on this list you dont like?
Let me know!
Yes Jim Kay and AA Milne! I hope the next HP illustrated will be just as beautifull as the previous ones!
