I saw this over at Brittany’s blog Perfectly Tolerable and though it looks challenging and fun to do, so I did it. Please check out her blog, it’s great π

Let’s dive in!
Secrets and Lies | A book set in a sleepy small town
Maybe not so small, it’s London after all, a dystopian fantasy version. But! This has a religion which makes the inhabitants sleepy and forget who they are. So yeah! Sleepy! Highly recommended π

Salt and Sand | A book with a beachside community
The nearest I get to this is Virals by Kathy Reichs. The events takes place on islands and they have a boat go in between. Also they hide on the beach of one of them. I need to read some sand and sea books…

Here There Be Dragons | A book with a voyage on the high seas
It took a while to remember that had actually read a book set at sea. To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo is about a siren and a siren hunter π

Tread Lightly | A book set down a murky river or a jungle
The prequel to His Dark Material Trilogy, The Book of Dust book 1; La Belle Sauvage takes mostly place on a river during a magical flood with all sorts of stuff floating in it.

Frozen Wastes | A book with a frostbitten atmosphere
Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik was cold as ice. I’m glad I read this in summer π₯Ά

The Boonies | A book with rough or isolated terrain
The Vagrant by Peter Newman is set in a dystopian setting with ruined cities and long distances between settlements. I picked up this book mainly because the main character is mute and I couldn’t understand how the dialogues would work if one character was always silent. But it does work and it’s really good π

Hinterlands and Cowboys | A book with a western-esque setting
Dystopian Canada with a badass female character going on the hunt for someone who took her twin brother.

Look Lively | A book across sweeping desert sands
This entire series is set around dessert and sand and djins. I got quite thirsty reading these books π

Wild and Untamed | A book set in the heart of the woods
I can only think of Uprooted by Naomi Novik but Brittany had the same answer. I can only think of this book becasue it is about the heart of a forest, as the question asked for.

Wildest Dreams | A whimsical book shrouded in magic
The Latter’s Ember by Colleen Houck is the perfect whimsical Halloween books that is also shrouded in magic.

I tag:
- You!
