May TBR and reading plan

It’s finally May! I love May 🥰

April went by really quickly and I believe May will be the same. I have plenty of garden work to do so audibooks will be my friend this month. There is also the Asian readathon which is a month long readathon happening and I did a seperate TBR for that.

I have generally been quite busy this month and not have plenty of blog hopping and reading other bloggers posts. I hope to do more of this in May 🤞

The links will take you to their GoodReads page for each book. If the book doesn’t have a GoodReads page, the link will take you to their Amazon page. They are not affiliated links.

Need to Finish Already!!

I didn’t finish either of these last month. I’m getting sick of them being on here and on my WWW posts. I need to get through them!

The A to Z of Gender and Sexuality: From Ace to Ze by Morgan Potts – I started this one in March and it’s very interesting. There are so many terms I never knew! But it’s a big book and a reference book, so it’s a slow read. Hopefully, I can finish it this month though. I’m currently on T and Testosterone 🤷‍♀️😂

Sapiens; A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari – I started this book in January. I’ve had acccess to it on and off for these past 4 months. I’m borrowing from the library and I can’t extend my lending period so I keep having to give it back, and it’s so frustrating. Hopefully this month is the month. I’m halfway and I hope I will be finished or close to finishing by the end of the month.

ARCs

Nocturna by Maya Motayne – This was on my most anticipated underhypder releases of 2019 and I’m very excited for it. I don’t know much about it but I do know it an Latin-inspired fantasy. And that is really all I know so far. I haven’t seen anything negative about it, nor have I seen much of it around the booksphere, to be honest.

Tali Nohkati by Koza Belleli – A Native American Inspired novel by a French author translated to English. This will be interesting. As far as my research goes the author has no relation to Native Americans or any relation to them. I hope this is not a misrepresentation or a poor representation. I hope its well researched, but we’ll see. I’ll be reading with my critical eye.

Book Club Book

A Fraction of the Whole by Steven Toltz – I’m not sure about this book. It doesn’t sound that great and its big (700+ pages), but it sounds funny so we’ll see. I have to read it for the book club though. Our meeting is Wednesday 29th May.

Asian Readathon

I did a full post on my Asian Readathon TBR, but in addition to that I have several Asian books I would like to read during this month including:

  • The Terracotta Bride
  • Waiting On a Bright Moon
  • One Cone Glory
  • The Darkest Forest
  • It’s Not About the Burqa
  • The Travelling Cat Chronicles
  • I’m Afraid of Men
  • Tiger’s Daughter
  • Kingdom of Copper

Have you read any of these? What did you think?

What’s on your May TBR?

Happy reading!

    1. Thanks! May is always the month with a lot of garden work to do and not enough flowers that blooms, at least that’s how my garden does it. Every year I think next year i’ll grow something that blooms in May, but that has yet to occur…
Happy May reading to you too 🙂 done get soil stains in you books 😉

      1. I usually try to get stuff that blooms most of the growing season but it’s tough to find flowers like that that will also grow in my particular environment (part shade) that also have the look I like. I’m picky! Lol. I’ll try not to ruin my books hah. 🙂

      2. Yeah gardening it’s a slow work in progress. You try something that doesn’t like the spot and so you move it for next year. Maybe I’ll get something for next year. We’ll see. Eventually I’ll get there 😊🌱
