Aaaaaand I’m behind on my reading… SURPRISE!!
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?
What I’m currently reading?
This Is Going To Hurt: Secret Diary of A Junior Doctor by Adam Kay – This is a funny, real diary of a junior doctor in the NHS (public health care system) here in the UK. I’m listning to this on audiobook and loving the author’s narration 😁
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit by Nahoko Uehashi – Asian Readathon – My translated choice for Asian Readathon. This Japanese story is a mix of westeren storytelling and Japanese stories. I read 7 pages on Saturday and haven’t picked it up since… promising.
Gutten (The Boy) by Jon Kalman Stefansson – Yup! Still going. It’s slow and I’ve made no progress since last week.
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari – It went back to the library. No progress since last week. Who knows when I’ll finish this one…
What I just finished?
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare – The final in the trilogy. Interesting ending… 🤔
I’m Afraid of Men by Vivek Shraya – A powerful little book about toxic masculinity, about misogyny, about negative attitude, and about pulling through. It’s about a cummulation of experiences as a boy, as gay, as trans and as a woman that lead to being afraid of men. It fell close to my heart and said out loud those things I didn’t felt like saying but had to be said. I found myself nodding along on several occasions. It’s a very short book and I highly recommed this 1h30min audiobbok which she narrates herself.
What I’m reading next?
Unfortunately I will have to pick up this general piece of fiction for the book club which is meeting next wednesday. I’m not looking forward to it and have delayed it for a very long time. But it’s got to be read, or attempted at least.

until next time
