it went ok
This readathon was a week-long readathon from the 12th to the 18th June. The whole point of this readathon is to read books with the Buzzword on the cover. This round, the buzzword was “YOU”!
I did ok. I read in total 3 books of which 1 was a 1h audiobook 🤷♀️. It worked well with getting out of my reading slump as I mostly read YA contemporary which is quick, easy and sweet. I even started another book on the last day and read 68 pages of it.
Book I Read!
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
Pages: 448p
I really loved this book! I loved the characted and they felt fully fleshed out with depth and a full backstory. They weren’t just characters. They are people. It felt like the sanity part of the book was totally real too. In the beginning, I knew what was real and what wasn’t real, but when I was halfway through the book I started to question things, and by the end of the book I questioned everything 😂
Poems To Live Your Life By selected and illustrated by Chris Riddell
Pages: 208p
I don’t do much poetry and I saw this selection in my library audiobook app and thought “why not”. There was a nice selection of poems of both fantastical elements and life lessons and motivational stuff. It was a good selection, but I felt a physical book would be better considering it’s illustrated by Chris Riddell (same guy who illustrated Neil Gaiman’s books).
History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
Pages: 320p
This book wasn’t as sad as I expected. Yes it was sad but not heartwrenching. I think my favourite part of the book was the OCD stuff, both the small things and the part where “when things are going bad let’s make it worse by making bad decisions” comes through. Also the romantic plot twist was super cute and I totally ship them 😁 Team Mountain! 🥰
If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo
Pages: 68/280p
I only did 68 pages of this one. I didn’t plan on reading those pages. I was just gonna read the first page to see what the writing was like, and then suddenly I was several chapters in and thought “why not” and continued to read 😂
I think the reading break I had before this readathon really helped both with wanting to read something and getting out of the reading slump. Might also have helped that I only read YA
Contemporary for this readathon which I haven’t read in at least 6 months. YA Contemporary is always a good one for getting out of reading slumps 😁
Anyone else participating in this readathon? How did you do?

Looks like you has a great readathon!
