WWW Wednesday – 21st August ’19

In the middle of the FemmeFanTale readathon!

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

What I’m currently reading?

Gumiho; Wicked Fox by Kat Cho – FemmeFanTale – I started this last night and only managed 25-30 pages, but so far so good. It’s a retelling of or inspired by a Korean myth/folklore of the nine tailed fox who survives by sucking out the soul of men, lol. I’m here for that!

Doll Bones by Holly Black – FemmeFanTale – a middle grade book about three friend who gets tasked by a doll to buried her bones so she can get peace. I’m 1/4 through and I’m not entirely sold on this being fantasy yet even though I’m reading it of FemmeFanTale which is all about fantasy. Ops!

Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James – This is currently put on hold for the duration of the readathon but I’m over halfway and loving it! It’s so intricate and filled with cultural aspects and wonderful things but it’s also bloody and violent.

What I just finished?

The Darkness by Ragnar Jonasson – Very interesting Icelandic crime with an unexpected twist at the end. It’s a series but the series goes the wrong way and starts with the last case and goes back in time as the series progress.

It’s Not About The Burqa edt by Miriam Khan – An anthology by Muslim women about Muslim women for once. They talk about Islam, feminism, sexism , faith and race. Very interesting and I learned a lot! I highly recommend this book to anyone even if this isn’t for you please check it out! It’s a must read! I’m definitely buying my own copy of this 🙂

What I’m reading next?

Well according to my FemmeFanTale TBR I will read the following two books over the weekend:

until next time
