This Sunday tag is created and run by Steph over at A Little But A Lot. There are some very interesting and fun prompts coming up this autumn so check it out. Today’s topic is Book set in a school and I have a few π
Let’s dive into the list of my 6 Books set at school
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling
This is an obvious choice so I placed it first π
Every book starts with a new school year at Hogwarts a big magical school everyone wants to go to. All the main action is based around Harry’s lessons, homework, and exams. the school holiday tends to go quickly and are still spend at school.
Writing abut this makes me want to re-read the series….

Midnight for Charlie Bone (Children of the Red King #1) by Jenny Nimmo
I read Charlie Bone series when I was very young and that itβs a long time ago. But from my vague memory most of these books took place at Charlies school. I really enjoyed these books and found them super inventive.
Anyone who like the first Harry Potter books might also find this interesting.

Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor
Sunny has moved back to Nigeria from New York and struggles to fit in at the new school, but then she starts to hang out with someone else in her neighbourhood who turns out to be witches. According to their teacher she is one too.
My favourite thing about this school is that they get money when they learn something. Money fall from the skies as things click into place in their heads. I loved that fact. I really need to read the sequel soon.

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
This YA Contemporary takes place party at school and party outside school. The main character is starting a new school and struggles to stay sane but she has to pretend to be sane otherwise she will be sent to an institution.
I enjoyed this read. It was quick, fun and emotional at the same time.

Heartstopper Volumn 1 by Alice Oseman
The first volume takes more place at the school than volume 2 mostly because volumn 1 is all about Nick and Charlie meeting and becoming friend at school.
Its a super sweet queer comic that I recommend to everyone.

Red Rising (RedRising #1) by Pierce Brown
This is most like a Hunger Games University than a proper school and it can get quite brutal. It not a school I would like to attend but I loved reading about it though Iβve only read the first book. I have yet to pick up the rest of the series but I might wait until they are all out and binge read them. Like I will do with Nevernight. So far there are 5 books, and I don’t know how many there will be, unless book 5 is the last one…?

What do you think?
Let me know!

I also love Akata Witch. Have just finished the sequel, Akata Warrior, which didn’t disappoint. I’m now awaiting the 3rd in the series. Another of Nnedi Okorafor’s books is ‘Who Fears Death’. This is now one of my all time favourite reads.
