It’s a slow start to October
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?
What I’m currently reading?
The Dragon Republic by R. F. Kuang – Just started this and I’m only 2% in but I’m so happy to be back! I do have problems remembering how the first one ended and the exact details of the first book, so I’m a little confused. But the author gave a quick summery of what had happened between the end of the first book and the start of the second within the first chapter which helped my memory a bit. Again the writing is great and the characters a funny. Very happy to be here 🙂
The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman – I’m almost finish with this, but it’s not an easy read. It’s brutal but also doesn’t dwell on the brutality that much which makes it easier to read. Then again it’s a true story so it’s harder hitting anyway. I though as a comic it would be a quick read, but it’s too heavy for me to be a quick read. I only have 30ish pages left so I’ll be done by the weekend.
Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell – It’s a surprisingly easy and entertaining read. But it’s over 1000 pages so I hope to finish before Christmas… Progress so far: started on 2nd September, 4th Sep on 3% (iBook page 118/4503), 11th September on 5% (iBook page 243/4503), 18th September on 14% (iBook page 614/4503) – Well, hello Rhett…!. 25th September on 16% (iBook page 718/4503), 9th October on 27% (iBook page 1226/4503) – the long gazes #swoon.
What I just finished?
Angel Mage by Garth Nix – Review to come! It was a very entertaining read. It was fun and full of adventure with a very original magic system and refreshingly diverse.
What I’m reading next?
I’ don’t know yet. I’ve got another 600 pages of Dragon Republic to get through before I pick my next read so let’s chill a bit.
until next time
