I’m keeping up with the plan… for now..
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?
What I’m currently reading?
The Dragon Republic by R. F. Kuang – the squeal to The Poppy War for last year. I’m finally getting in to it!! Yay! It’s brutal as the first book, and I do believe Rin had lost a bit of herself but I’m enjoying this read a lot 🙂
The Gendered Brain by Gina Rippon – My new audiobook is all about how a female and a male bran doesn’t exit and so far its great. The author has this snarky humour when she describes the historic ways men tried to prove women weren’t intelligent. I’m not far in but I’m loving it. Gina Rippon is a well known neuroscientist and professors in cognitive neuroimaging at Aston University, Birningham, so she knows what she is talking about.
Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell – It’s a surprisingly easy and entertaining read. But it’s over 1000 pages so I hope to finish it around Christmas… Progress so far: started on 2nd September, 4th Sep on 3% (iBook page 118/4503), 11th September on 5% (iBook page 243/4503), 18th September on 14% (iBook page 614/4503) – Well, hello Rhett…!. 25th September on 16% (iBook page 718/4503), 9th October on 27% (iBook page 1226/4503) – the long gazes #swoon, 16th October on 30% (iBook page 1350/4503), 23rd October 32% (iBook page 1476/4503) – Mistress!? how rude, 30th October – No progress, 6th November – 36% (iBook page 1635/4503), 20th November – 39% (1752/4503), 27th November – 43% (1942/4503). Scarlet has grown a spine over night, and no Rhett, 4th December – 47% (2104/4503), 11th December – 50% !!! (2260/4503) – the struggles of post civil war.
What I just finished?
Becoming by Michelle Obama – I loved how Michelle narrated her own audiobook. I loved her voice and her insight into her own life. Yes this book was long but I understand why it was so. Also loved her description of Trump at the end. There is no filter there 🙂 I miss the Obama’s.
Death Comes To Pemberley by P. D. James – This was a good squeal to Pride and Prejudice. IT takes place 6 years after their marriage and a murder occurs on Pemberley estate which also brings Lydia and Wickham back into their lives. I enjoyed the read and the book, but it was a bit short on dialogue for me. Also its in Darcy’s perspective 🙂
What I’m reading next?
According to my TBR, the choices are many but I think I’ll pick either Iron and Smoke by Brandon Nolta (a native american historic fantasy) or Jotnes Hjemkomst by B. Anders Bull-Hansen (a Norse mythology fantasy).
until next time
