It my last day at work before Christmas/holidays which means I’ll get more reading time, and probably more stress…
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?
What I’m currently reading?
The Dragon Republic by R. F. Kuang – the squeal to The Poppy War. I planned to have this finish by now, but stuff got in the way. I’m over 66% in though so well underway. Loving it so far 🙂 Its so well developed world wise!
The Gendered Brain by Gina Rippon – Still going on this one too. Roughly halfway and I hope to finish it before or during the weekend. It’s really good and interesting. A neuroscientist talks about the difference and the lack of differences between male and female brain. And BTW why does it have to be called “male” or “female” brains, it’s got nothing to do with neither sex nor gender. It’s not like the brain itself has a sex organ…! The book has gone through he historic parts now and its into how babies develop their brains.
Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell – It’s a surprisingly easy and entertaining read. But it’s over 1000 pages so I hope to finish it around Christmas… Progress so far: started on 2nd September, 4th Sep on 3% (iBook page 118/4503), 11th September on 5% (iBook page 243/4503), 18th September on 14% (iBook page 614/4503) – Well, hello Rhett…!. 25th September on 16% (iBook page 718/4503), 9th October on 27% (iBook page 1226/4503) – the long gazes #swoon, 16th October on 30% (iBook page 1350/4503), 23rd October 32% (iBook page 1476/4503) – Mistress!? how rude, 30th October – No progress, 6th November – 36% (iBook page 1635/4503), 20th November – 39% (1752/4503), 27th November – 43% (1942/4503). Scarlet has grown a spine over night, and no Rhett, 4th December – 47% (2104/4503), 11th December – 50% !!! (2260/4503) – the struggles of post civil war, 18th December – 53% (2366/4503).
What I just finished?
I had such a good first week of December where I finished 3 books and now I can’t even finish one…
What I’m reading next?
According to my TBR, the choices are many but I think I’ll pick Jotnes Hjemkomst by B. Anders Bull-Hansen (a Norse mythology fantasy). I’m going to have to return this to my sister over Christmas so I might as well start it.
until next time
