The Ultimate Home Made Reading Challenge 2020

I can never find a reading challenge that covers everything I want to do while keeping it open enough for me to read whatever I want. There is always something on the challenges I find annoying or just don’t like. Last year (on the last leg now) I did my own reading challenge The Ultimate Home Made Reading Challenge 2019 and loved it!

So this year, I’ll continue with my own reading challenge๐Ÿ˜ though I have downscaled a bit…

Throughout the year of 2019 I have collected thoughts a feedback to my own challenge and collected idea for new prompts. And this is the result ๐Ÿ™‚

I will be able to mix and match challenges as I see fit. Why? Because I made this challenge and I make the rules…

So let’s dive in…

Reading Challenges

A translated fantasy/magical realism book

A book written by a comedian

A book chosen based on the title alone

A book set on an island

A book about a small community

A book written in English by someone who learnt English as a second language

An own voice SFF from three different continents

A queer SFF

A social media recommendation

+800 page classic

5 books I bought in 2018 (including Audible purchases)

A 2019 GoodReads People Choice winner

A penguin modern classic

A book by an author who past away in 2018

Pre-2000 SFF written by a female author

A book about writing

There might be some challenges left over from the 2019 challenge and will be added on the new year. I hope there wont be too many but I might not be able to finish them all considering my December TBR is 13 books long!

How about that…

What reading challenges are you doing this year?

      1. Sure! Only thing is we run bingo from April 1st to March 31st every year so we’re still on 2019 bingo for a few more months and don’t have the card yet for the new period. LOL
I usually do a post on the new card in April.
