I can never find a reading challenge that covers everything I want to do while keeping it open enough for me to read whatever I want. There is always something on the challenges I find annoying or just don’t like.
Last year I got feed up and made my own: The Ultimate Home Made Reading Challenge 2019
It was exessive… but it was fun π
And this is how it went.

EDI Challenges
A book featuring a religion

A book about feminism

A book by an indigenous author featuring an indigenous MC

A book about racism/racial issue
A book by an AOC
An own voice book about an immigrant or immigration

A book featuring a mental health issue relating to a mood disorder (e.g. depression, bipolar, etc)
A book featuring an eating disorder
Didn’t get to… moved to 2020 challenge
A book featuring a mental illness related to personality and self (e.g. disassociated personality disorder, OCD, Schizophrenia, etc)
A book featuring a change to the MC’s physical abilities (eg. loose sight, amputates a leg, etc)
The MC in Jotnens Hjemkomst loses his arm and has to learn sword play and walking with only one arm. Interesting feature was the focus on his balance after the loos of the arm, never thought about that.

So many good books! Definitely need to look into a few of those transgender/nonbinary/genderfluid titles.
