WWW Wednesday – 15th January 2020

I’m finally getting some reading done!

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

What I’m currently reading?

Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adayemi – the sequel to Children of Blood and Bone is finally within my possessions even though its a library book. Listening to this on audio and struggle to stop listening once I’ve started. I need to remember to stop so I can actually breath; its so intense. It’s really good and very intense. However, with 3 narrations all in 1st person it’s tricky to tell them apart and this was an issue I had in book one too.

Jordmor pa Jorda by Edvid Hoem – I’m not far in. The language is tricky and I struggle a bit. It takes time for me to get into the language so I can’t just sit down and read for 5 min I need 30 min to and hour at least. But its very interesting so far. Its based on the authors great-great-grandmother and her life. Knowing its based on real life makes it more interesting.

Feathertide by Beth Cartwright – I’m halfway through this book and quite enjoyed it but I’m getting a bit bored. There is hardly any struggling going on here (in comparison to what I’m used to).

What I just finished?

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern – This was magical! Stories within stories. I got a bit confused in the end but that might have been because I listen to it on audio and all the stories within stories ravelled to align with the true story, and I lost a big lost. But it was still good.

Emergency Contact by Mary H. K. Choi – This was a really cute YA contemporary. I love the characters and the setting. Full review to come on Friday!

Lumberjanes (Lumberjanes #1) by Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Shannon Watters – This was a fun graphic novel about crazy summer camp with Greek inspired mythology and feral Lumberlads. LOL

What I’m reading next?

Why can’t I stick to the TBR and the reading plan?

I should and I will pick up The Danish Girl by David Ebershoff next. It is our current office book club book so this has to be read in January.

until next time
