March TBR and reading plan 2020

time flies when you are reading something good…!

February was fae infested with all the fae books I read but I also loved having a whole month to just fantasy books. I ended up reading a total of 7 books (which is 1 book less than my monthly goal to be able to reach my 100 book yearly goal….). Last years Faebruary I read 14 books… This proves my point that I read slower this year than last year. Oh well. I just got myself an allotment which is probably taking over most of my reading time at the moment, but once I get sorted on there I hope to get sorted in my reading life too 🙂

Based on all that and all the ARCs I put on hold for Faebruary, I put together a TBR for March with 6 books and 1 book to start, with another book by mood selection. So in total I should be able to finish at least 7 book this month and start my massive classic for this year. I hope…

ARCs

There Will Come Darkness (The Age of Darkness #1) by Katy Rose Pool – This book just sounds great. I mean a band of misfits, magic and prophets. What more could you ask for? It’s due out on the 5th March so I better get to it!

The Girl and The Stars (Book of the Ice #1) by Mark Lawrence – I’ve wanted to read a Mark Lawrence book for a while having heard a lot of good things about the author. The Girl and The Stars is his first YA novel and I want to know who this is hence the eARC 🙂 Due out in the end of April.

Incendiary (Hollow Crown #1) by Zoraida Cordova – I’ve had my eye one this book since I first heard of it back in 2018 and trilled to gain an eARC for it. It’s also do out in the end of April so hopefully I can get it read and reviewed before that 🙂

Physical TBR shelf

I don’t know what to chose for this so I think I do a mood selection, but here here are some options of what I could end up reading 🙂 However, I do hope to make progress on Jordmor Paa Jorda as well (the semi fictional account of the authors great-great-grandmother who walked several hundred miles to the capital to become midwife in the 1800-century).

E-Book TBR shelf

Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reed – a shorter novel by a new-to-me author. I wanted to read something about Taylor Jenkins Reed for a while and this is fairly short and snappy. And also a piece of contemporary in the middle of my fantasy reads will be a breath of fresh air.

Library

Don’t Tell My Mum I Work On The Rigs, She Thinks I’m A Piano Player At A Whore House by Paul Carter – I have wanted to read this book since I heard of it back in 2017. It sounds funny and as someone who working in a similar sector I brace myself for what’s to come…

Metamorphism by Franz Kafka (read by Benedict Cumberbatch) – I read this book two years ago and found it quite funny in a dark and sarcastic way. When I saw this version on the library e-audiobook app I couldn’t stop myself in reserving it. Who doesn’t love Benedict Cumberbatch’s voice? (unless he is referring to penguins…). Also it’s only 1h 38min long.

Reading Challenge

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas – This is my big read of the year! For the last three years I’ve read one 800+ page classic a year. It all started with Les Miserable, then Anna Karenina and last year was Gone With The Wind. However, in those previous years I started the book towards the end of the year leaving me to rush to finish it on New Years Eve. I have finish all those three long classics just before midnight every time. Three years running! I won’t have it this year! This year I’m starting yearly. And hopefully finishing in a decent time too. I hope to finish it sometime around summer so you’ll see this book a lot on my posts.
