Just finish The Reading Rush and realised there is only one week left of April…! How did that happen?!?!
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?
What I’m currently reading?
Me by Elton John – Listening to this book whiles doing my work. Its narrated by Elton John and Taran edgerton (who we all love). Fro someone who loved Rocketman the musical this book is a must! I love the story being told by the narrators and the way the story is laid out. The book contains more than the musical and obviously the book does not have the fantastical elements like the film does. Very interesting listen and a fascinating and amazing man!
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – I’m a 3rd through and really liking it. I’m not loving it and I’m not sure why. I think there is something in the writing which makes me feel a bit distant towards the characters which I don’t like. I don’t know, but its entertaining at least.
Jordmor pa Jorda by Edvind Hoem – ON HOLD – This is a slow read but very interesting. A mix between non-fiction and historical fiction. Very original. I should probably un-hold this now but I’m not ready yet. I need fast paced stuff right now and this doesn’t have that.
What I just finished?
The Best Man (Blue Heron #1) by Kristan Higgins – Well here I am again. After finish the 5th book in the series I went straight back to the first one. I’m finding myself in need of positive books after finishing The Man In The High Castle and being in lock down. This was sweet and an easy read with some funny moments.
Dog Songs by Mary Oliver – a poetry collection about dogs. I don’t own a dog. I’m not the targeted demographic for this book but I enjoyed it none the less.
The Man In The High Castle by Philip K Dick – This was a slow read. Fascinating and interesting but scary and uncomfortable read too. It’s well made but not something I would want to read again. I’m glad I read it though, and I’m gad I’m done.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness – Re-read! – I cried the first time I read this a few years ago, and I cried even more this time around. Probably because this time I was in a location which allowed for crying. The first time I was wandering around an airport waiting to board a plane. I listen to the audiobook for this and loved Jason Isaacs (he plays Lucius Malfoy) narration, it was just soooooooo good!!!
What I’m reading next?
According to my TBR there is a lot left to read. of my Physical reads I have Gods of Jade and Shadow and Who Fears Death? left to read, and The Girl and The Stars is my last April ARCs which is due out next week – hmm, I should probably read this one then.
until next time
