WWW Wednesday – 29th April 2020

Its the end of April already… I need to finish my wrap-up.

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

What I’m currently reading?

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – I’m struggling guys! I’m almost halfway through and I can’t seem to pick this book up. I even “un-hold” the book below because I would rather read that. I want to love The Night Circus, and I’m wondering whether that is the reason why I don’t. Maybe I had too many expectations. Maybe I’ve talked myself into not liking it? Maybe me and Erin Morgenstern just don’t get along… I don’t know. But I will finish it and I will rate it. I’m not yet giving up.

Jordmor pa Jorda by Edvind Hoem – I’m back reading this one. I put it on hold when I was about 90 pages in sometime in end of January. I picked the book up again this weekend and I’m already at page 120. This is a slow read but very interesting. A mix between non-fiction and historical fiction. Very original.

What I just finished?

Me by Elton John – I loved listening to this book. Elton John has had an amazing and fascinating like. He talks about it all. Elton John himself narrates the prologue and the epilogue while Taron Egeton (he played Elton John in Rocketman) narrates the rest. I loved it.

What I’m reading next?

According to my TBR there is a lot left to read for April , most will be moved over to May TBR (due out on the 1st), but for now I think my next read will be an audiobook.

until next time

  1. I had a similar journey with The Night Circus. I LOVE the prose and the concept was amazing but I also felt it was a little style over substance for me? It took me forever to get through it because I was bored and had trouble actually connecting with the characters. I wound up putting it down for 9 months before picking it up again and finishing it. In the end I liked it but didn’t love it the way so many other people do. 🙂

    1. At least you are not alone. At least there is a least two of us feeling like this. haha! But yeah it was as struggle. I feel the least half was pretty good in comparison to the first half especially when it came to that substance or plot line stuff.

      1. Yeah, I definitely enjoyed the latter half better. I also liked two of the side characters better than the main characters (can’t remember their names now, it all escapes me)
