WWW Wednesday – 10th June 2020

How time flies…

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

The Empire of Gold (The City of Brass #3) by S. A. Chakraborty – I back in the world of deavas, djinns and mythical creatures. I’m about a 4th through and loving it! I totally in to it. I feel sorry for Dara and his confused self. I think I still ship Dara and Nahri but only if Dara can change his views, though that is a mighty task.

The Left Hand of Darkness (Hainish Cycle #4) by Ursula K. LeGuin – I’m struggling a bit with this book and I think it’s to do with the writing style. I find it difficult to follow. I’m confused over who is narrating and in which world the gender fluid system is. But the world is fascinating and I’m getting into the story more now so I’ll continue but it will be a slow read.

Jordmor pa Jorda by Edvind Hoem – 34% in. No progress since last time. Should I DNF? I’m not sure.

The Color Purple by Alice Walker – I should have included this is the Queer Lit but for some reason I didn’t join the dots. I read it in one day though and I really liked it.

They Both Die In The End by Adam Silvera – as expected the book was sad, but it was happy too. It was actually really sweet and funny. A Silvera classic!

Ivy Aberdeen’s Letter To The World by Ashley Herring Blake – This was super sweet and such a tearjerker. A queer middle grade book where the main character is 12 year old and is crushing on her new friend, but also about being the forgotten middle child. Loved it!

According to my June TBR here is plenty to jump on to. Queer Lit has finished and I need to type up the Wrap-up, but I have plenty of books to get on to.

until next time

    1. oo I didn’t even think of the ending! Maybe that’s the way to go; don’t think its the end just another instalment. So far tho, it’s good and feels homely 🙂 I’m not even gonna consider the ends atm lol.
