It’s the Reading Rush!
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi – The Reading Rush – Birthstone coloured book (emerald 🙂 ). I’m just shy of 100 pages in but so far is super intriguing. I love the setting of Paris in the 1800’s and the magical artefacts and all that. I think I’m in for quite a ride. Also, I’m getting a Six of Crows vibe 🙂
Who Fears Death? by Nnedi Okorafor – On hold atm due to the Reading Rush 🙂

How to Be an Anti-racist by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi – This was an amazing book of self discovery of racism and anti-racism as well as teaching me about the different aspects of anti-racism. It goes quite deep too. not just this is or isn’t racism, but looks into sub-groups of racism; biological racism, statistical racism, and space racism (not space travel but the spaces we control) to name a few. For all sub-genres he first looks at the definition, than his own journey to finding this out, then discusses who we as a whole can act as anti-racist within this sub-genre. He also takes a good look at the history of these sub-groups. Where did it come from and why? It’s super fascinating! Very well done and I think I need to purchase this book to keep as a reference.
The Sleeping Beauty by C. S. Evans – The Reading Rush – Well that was different from Disney’s version… It was so tame. It was very white, very “rich will make you happy”, and Sleeping Beauty feeling so grateful for the prince waking her. It was cute and interesting to read but I prefer the movie with the dragon and stuff. Tho I would love to see a version where the gender roles are reversed completely 🙂

According to my July TBR I have a lot to read, but my Reading Rush TBR has a few other options. I’m waiting for Lean In to become ready on my library audiobook app so maybe I’ll start Dear John first.

until next time

Enjoy your reading!

Ahh I really really need to read Gilded Wolves! I’ve heard so many positive reviews for it! Lean in is also a book that I would love to read even though it’s not my usual genre
