August was great! I wonder how September lives up to that…
August was a month filled with big books and so many good books that I loved and enjoyed. I’m not sure how September will live up to this.
I managed 10 books in total in August. A full wrap-up can be found here. But I’m pleased with my August efforts and I hope I can keep the steam going.
September will also be Becca’s Bookoplathon for the entire month and I made a separate TBR for that. I have not included those books in here but there are 5 books there. Luckily I got no doubles so its didnt screw me ovwer. In addition and on this TBR I have 3 ARC’s, half a tome, some library books are coming off hold as well. All in all, I have 8 complete books and 2 already started books. Should be ok 🙂
Let’s dive in!
The links will take you to their GoodReads page for each book. It the book doesn’t have a GoodReads page, the link will take you to their Amazon page. They are not affiliated links.
Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – it’s been on my TBR since April… let’s just read it
All The Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace – I have started this book already and so far so good. All I need to do is finish it 🙂
A Deathly Education by Naomi Novik – She back! Naomi Novik is due out with a new book which takes place on a magical boarding school where graduations mean you survive!
The Burning God (The Poppy War #3) by R. F. Kuang – I’m feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity of reading this whole series via e-ARCs. For every single instalment I managed to get an ARC. And this is turning out to be one of my all time favourite series. I do really need to buy a set for myself at some point. I’m a little reluctant to read the final instalment but at the same time I really want to dive back in to see where it all ends.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V E Schwab – OMG! I can’t believe I manage to get and ARC for this!!! I’m so excited! Aaaah!
Recipe for Persuasion by Sonali Dev – a retelling of Persuasion by Jane Austin which is my all time favourite Jane Austen, so I had to pick up this retelling.
Help Me! by Marianne Power – the author questions the effects of self help books so she seeks them out and trues them! She does one book a month for a whole year to see if it works. I can only imagine this being funny and super interesting as I wonder the same thing.
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas – This is my big read of the year! For the last three years I’ve read one 800+ page classic a year. It all started with Les Miserable, then Anna Karenina and last year was Gone With The Wind. However, in those previous years I started the book towards the end of the year leaving me to rush to finish it on New Years Eve. I have finish all those three long classics just before midnight every time. Three years running! I won’t have it this year! This year I’m starting yearly. And hopefully finishing in a decent time too. I hope to finish it sometime around summer so you’ll see this book a lot on my posts.
Update April: I didn’t manage to get started on this in March like I planned to. Maybe this month will be better…! I need to make a start on this. If I can do single-digit progress on this book I will be very happy 😀
Update May: This is the 3rd month I have it on my TBR without actually starting it… Though I have opened it and read part of the introduction… which isn’t saying much but hey! its a small step forward though I don’t count that as starting the book.
Update June: AAAAAARG!!! Just get started on it already!!!
Update July: ……………………………………………………………………..*eye roll* still not started. I might save it for TomeTopple in August tho.
Update August: oh yeah! i almost for got about this book. Maybe I should incorporate this into TomeTopple?
Update September: I only have 30 hours left! Yay! So that means I’ve done about 22 hours and 4 short hours away from halfway 🙂
Have you read any of these? What did you think?
What’s on your September TBR?
