WWW Wednesday – 7th October 2020

October already…

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

It’s currently Gothtober and my TBR can be found here.

The three Wโ€™s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think youโ€™ll be reading next?

Akata Warrior (Akata witch #2) by Nnedi Okorafor – I’m halfway through this fun fantasy set in Nigeria. I read the frist book a few years ago but I still remember a lot from it so going into this one was fine. There is also a recap in the beginning for those who need it. And it’s done in a fun way! Anyway, I’m loving this story as expected ๐Ÿ™‚

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas – Started this during TomeTopple in August. It’s 52 hours long and by the end of the readathon I had 38 hour left. No progress since last week so I’ve still got 28 hours left ๐Ÿ™‚

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – Last book I finished on the last day of September. I loved this! It was so fun and sweet and original. I loved the human vs god element Hun-Kame struggles with. I loved the Underworld and the magic of it. And obviously, I loved Casiopea and her stubborn braveness and badassery ๐Ÿ™‚ Lastly, I loved that it was a standalone! (they are so rare!!)

October TBR and Gothtober TBR are both filled to the brim with good books (or I hope they are good). I’m not sure which to pick next, but maybe I’ll pick up one of these;

until next time
