I’m on a roll!
Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.
The three W’s are
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll be reading next?
Interview with the Vampire (Vampire Chronicles #1) by Anne Rice – Waywardathon – It’s a classic and I haven’t read it before so I’m giving it a go. I’m only about 10% in but it’s an easy read and very interesting. I can feel its older that my other reads but so far that’s not a problem.
Disfigured; On Fairy Tales, Disability and Making Space by Amanda Leduc – Slowly making my way through this. It’s interesting to see fairy tales from the perspective of the disables and disfigured. As an able bodied person it’s a new perspective for me even though I knew of some of these issues before. I’m enjoying this read very much and learning a lot.
Witherward (Witherward #1) by Hannah Mathews – This was so good and so much fun! In a parallel London lives all the magical creatures in a constant battle for borders and authority. Enter our main character Ilsa, a cockney street urchin making a living in our normal London as a magician assistant due to her abilities. Suddenly she is “saved” or kidnapped (depending on the narration) to this parallel London filled with people who can do what she can do and its normal. Then a ruling family, missing members, murder plots, mysteries, etc. It was great! Imagen My Fair Lady with the ability to shift into other people and animals, looking for a missing person and trying not to get into too much trouble. Full review to come 🙂 I look forward to the next instalment!
All the Tides of Fate (All the Stars and Teeth #2) by Adalyn Grace – I wish I hadn’t wasted my time on this. For most of the book I was annoyed at the main character. This book suffered from the trope of loosing a trusted loved one and therefore not trusting anyone else just in case she would loose them too, even though her friends are willing to help and fight for her. Annoying. Though it was a decent ending to the series and well written (-ish). I’m glad its over. Full review to come.
My February TBR is filled with ARCs but my Wayward readathon TBR is also filled with a good mix of books. I have finished all my most pressing read (ARC with due date in February) so I have a freedom to pick whichever I want! But maybe I’ll pick up one of the two below?
until next time
