WWW Wednesday – 3rd March 2021

February flew by! I can’t believe its officially spring now… yay!

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

The House of the Spirits by Isabel AllendeBook Club Pick – It seriously lacks dialogue! But its interesting and slightly magical. So all in all its a slow read but interesting. I’m only 55 pages in out of almost 500 pages and I’ve been reading for two days! Our book club meeting is on the 9th so I better get on it.

Skyward Inn by Aliya Whiteley – a quicker read to match up to the slow one just to feel like I’m getting somewhere. Also this ARC is due out in 10 days so I better get on with it 🙂 So far its sweet, slow burn and fascinating.

How The King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black – I randomly started this last nigh and finished it last night too. It’s super short and follows Cardan as we see him through his childhood and into his marriage to Jude. All the stories has a story in it or an explanation for what he did. Its was nice to get his side of the story for once 🙂

Ruin and Rising (Grishaverse #3) Leigh Bardugo – A worthy ending to the series and an ending I loved. I was never really sold by this series but I wanted to read it and I’m very excited for the TV show! And now that I finished the last book I’m ready for it. I feel knowing the ending will make the show more interesting to me. Maybe.

Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie – this was surprisingly offensive and violent! But then again it is an historic children’s novel so maybe it was ok back then, but its not now. We have children stabbing pirates and killing them! Also highly sexists and racists. Do not recommend unless you want to put yourself through it and read it.

My March TBR is filled with ARCs but also several Library book I’m waiting to come in. For the time being there are a few books with deadlines and those will be the next picks I do make.

until next time

    1. Thank you! Oooo! Good choices! I can never read two of the same genre at the same time. I don’t mind reading 4-5 books at one time but they all have to be different in some way so well done you. Also I do want to start reading Robin Hobb. I have Assassins Apprentice on my shelf that I’m hoping to get to at some point.

  1. I am also excited for spring! I have that Holly Black book in my pile but just haven’t gotten to it yet for some reason but I really do think it will be interesting when I get to it, would love to see Cardan’s POV.
