April TBR and reading plan 2021

It’s Camp NaNo time… and I have so many ARCs to read…

March was an ok month for me reading wise. I’m still ahead on my GoodReads goal (thanks to Bookoplathon!) which mean I don’t have to stress about it when I’m waist deep in Camp NaNo. I hope to get a few books read as well as all my Camp NaNo goals but I’m not fussed about how many I’ll end up reading.

For April I don’t have a lot that need to be done. Yes I’ll be participating in Camp NaNo so my time is spares. My goal for Camp NaNo is time based. I plan to spend 40 hours working on my project this month which mean 40 hours less time spent reading…

I’m also participating in Raedathon which is a 24h readathon happening on the 3rd April.

This TBR is more a list of stuff I will need to read in the near future. Not sure if they get read in April or if they will be read in May but I though I’ll lay it all out for you this month and then see what I’ll end up with 🙂

Let’s dive in!

The links will take you to their GoodReads page for each book. If the book doesn’t have a GoodReads page, the link will take you to their Amazon page. They are not affiliated links.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – book club pick for May – Not needed to read right now. I can save this for May but if I need something warm, positive and hopeful to read I’ll have this. This is my office book club pick for May and I’m very excited about it.

The Ones We’re Meant To Find by Joan He – I hope to read this in April to make May less stressful. Don’t know much about it apart from there being separated sisters, and island and magical realism. Publication date UK 4th May 2021.

Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon – I’ve loved all of Rivers Solomon writings so far and I’m very excited to see this on NetGalley. I know this will be hard to read but interesting and good too. I think I’ll at least start this in April but I may not finish it before May. Publication date UK 11th March 6th May 2021. (Delayed)

Illusionary (Hollow Crown #2) by Zoraida Cordova – Not a priority in April but will be in early May so I might start it or I might not in April. We’ll see. Publication date UK 11th May.

Oculta (A Forgery of Magic#2) by Maya Motayne – the sequel to Nocturna which I read last year and reviewed here. I started this in March as part of TomeTopple but didn’t finish so onto April TBR it goes. Publication date UK 6th April.

Not sure yet but I think it will be something short. I might pick something up for Raedathon on the 3rd April and it might be a mood pick. But I could also end up picking up something for writing because of Camp NaNo. Who knows.

Again not sure what to choose for this. I have several options but I want to keep it open for me to pick what I need to read wether that is something short, something all-consuming escapism, or something about writing for motivation.

Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer – something light and sweet and quick to lighten my mood and feed me some positivity in the current horrible world situation.

The Silence by Don DeLillo – I don’t know much about this apart from that fact that this made it on to a GoodReads Monday post last year. It’s a very short read (less than 2h) and I think it might be with light sci-fi elements (maybe).

On Writers and Writing by Margaret Atwood – it’s Camp NaNo and I need writing motivation. I haven’t read anything by Margaret Atwood (don’t hate me!) but several of her books are on my TBR and I know of her work etc. So this should give me some motivation 🤞

Have you read any of these? What did you think?

What’s on your TBR?

Happy reading!

  1. I really hope you love The House in the Cerulean Sea when you read it. It made me feel so happy. I read it so fast and it had me smiling and laughing all the way through!
