May TBR and reading plan 2021

I have so many ARCs to read…

April went ok and not so ok. The first half was really good and then the second half was not so good reading wise. I read over half of my April TBR in the first two weeks (Mid-month wrap up video found here). But then the second half of the month arrived with deadlines at work and workmen int he house and I didn’t read much.

However. I did watch Shadow and Bone. Twice… 😁

I’ve therefore started a re-read of Six of Crows and no its not on my TBR, its just something that will run in the back ground. Im not sure if I will record it and count it towards my reading goal or not.

I don’t think May will be very busy. I have a lot of annual leave booked in and I hope to chill a bit. And read a lot obviously. So I’ve made this TBR with all that in mind. It has 10 books on it which looking at my stats for this spring is doable. But that doesn’t include my secret TBR… And I’ve lost count of how many books are on that. ops. Anyway. One book has jumped over from April’s TBR to May’s mainly due to the stress at the end of the month. It will therefore be the first thing I’ll read.

Let’s dive in!

The links will take you to their GoodReads page for each book. If the book doesn’t have a GoodReads page, the link will take you to their Amazon page. They are not affiliated links.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – book club pick for May – Need to read this ASAP! And I’m super excited to finally get to it. It’s officially my next read 🙂

Illusionary (Hollow Crown #2) by Zoraida Cordova – Probably my first ARC of May. It’s the earliest and I’m excited for it. Publication date UK 11th May.

In the Ravenous Dark by A. M. Strickland – Another priority read for May. Don’t know much about this but I’ve heard good thing about the author and it has a pan sexual representation in here which I’m super curious about. Publication date UK 18th May 2021.

For The Wolf by Hannah Whitten – similar in synopsis to The Wolf And The Woodsman by Ava Reid. I wonder how similar they actually are. Maybe I’ll do a video about it. Definitely something I’ll start in May. Publication date UK 3rd June.

The Wolf and The Woodsman by Ava Reid – Not a priority in May but I’ll probably read it just after For The Wolf to compare. Publication date UK 8th June 2021

Black Water Sister by Zen Cho – Not a priority in May. Publication date UK 10th June 2021.

The Jasmin Throne (Burning Kingdoms #1) by Tasha Suri – Not a priority in May. But there are several books coming out this time of year so the more I get read the better. Publication date UK 10th June.

Not sure yet but I think it will be something short. I do have a secret TBR for a video where I think there might move some ebooks read.

Again not sure what to choose for this. I have several options as you can see. I want to finish the Bone Witch series but I also want to continue with the Broken Earth Trilogy. I might end up doing the random number generator again if I haven’t picked anything.

Piranesi by Susana Clark – I always wanted to read Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell but oh my that intimidating! Its a big ass book! Piranesi on the other had is not. So I’ve decided to read this one first and if I like the authors writing style I’ll pick up her other works. Maybe.

Mrs Death Misses Death by Selena Godden – Booktube made me do it! Written in prose I’ve requested the audiobook from the library and I hope I’ll get it in May but it might not happen before June. I feel prose is better in audio format. Is this just me?

Also here is the TBR I filmed for my YouTube channel. Just in case you can’t be bothered to read my post 🙂

Have you read any of these? What did you think?

What’s on your TBR?

Happy reading!
