WWW Wednesday – 26th May 2021

I can’t believe I missed last weeks post. This is what happens when I take Wednesdays off work…

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

Dubliners by James Joyce – I picked this as my “random generator picks my next read“ this month. I actually ended up picking two book but this is the one that qualifies for my monthly goal so im reading it first. Its a collection of short stories or snips of life stories. Ive read 8 out of 15 but only made it 70 pages through 190 page book. The last two stories are 30 pages each. I still hope to finish this by end of the month even though I’ve spent the last week reading these 70 pages… we’ll see.

For the Wolf by Hannah Whitton – only 20% in but so far so good. This is the east-European inspired tale of Red (the second daughter) who gets offered to the wolf as a sacrifice but realises there is more to it than what the stories tell. I kept confusing this book with another red riding hood retelling but i know what this one is about 😁

Delirium (Delirium #1) by Lauren Oliver – hmm. How do I feel about this book? I felt it hadn’t aged well so I looked up when it was published thinking sometime around 2005, but no! 2011…. I don’t know how to feel about that. I enjoyed the read but its not a favourite.

In the Ravenous Dark by A. M. Strickland – I loved this book and here is why: full review.

My May TBR is coming to an end and I’m rushing my last reads to hopefully get everything read by the time they need to get read. So not sure what I’ll pick up but one of the below is guaranteed that I’ll read soon.

until next time
