WWW Wednesday – 2nd June 2021

I’m a little reading stressed. I’m somewhere between my May TBR, June TBR and QueerLit TBR trying to function 😰😁

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

The Wolf & The Woodsman by Ava Reid – honestly haven’t started this yet but I will start it tonight 😁

Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muri – I was super confused for the first 100 something pages. Where was Gideon? Then it all came flooding back. Great. This is told in second person so “you did this” and “you did that” but it’s fine. It works.

For the Wolf by Hannah Whitton – I finished this last night, and typed up a review straight away. This was ok. The plot was predictable and emotions was told instead of shown. But it was engaging. I’m left with an uneasy feeling that I don’t know where comes from. I don’t think I will read this author again.

Dubliners by James Joyce – I picked this as my “random generator picks my next read“ for May. I did manage to finish it in the end but it took me 2 weeks. This collection of short stories are all slice of life thing which I’m not the biggest fan off but I’m glad I’ve read it. Eveline is my favourite 😞

It’s June and my TBR equals stress right now, but I’ll manage. Not sure if my next read will be from that TBR or my QueerLit TBR which is due out tomorrow.

until next time
