WWW Wednesday – 21st July 2021

I’ve been busy reading! I’m back no track (I think)

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

Unashamed by Leah Vernon – I’m a quarter through and so far it’s a very interesting life. We have been through Leah’s childhood and university and are now settling into the time she got herself sorted.

How To Be Both by Ali Smith – Just started this one. I think I’m going to need some time to read it. The start is quite slow. But hopefully, I will manage by the end of the month. If I don’t DNF if before then…

Black Water Sister by Zen Cho – Full review to come, but this was so much fun!

The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho – this is a wuxia book which is a new subgenre to me. It was queer and fun and adventurous.

Sorcerer to the Crown (#1) by Zen Cho – First in a series and the author’s debut novel. A historical fantasy set in Victorian England. For a debut novel, this was really good. No wonder it won awards.

A Universe of Wishes edited by Dhonielle Clayton – Over halfway and I’ve already found new authors I’m super curious about. Also, I might have found my favorite story too. Not sure. But so far they are all pretty good.

Some Enchanted Evening (Moonstruck Vol #2) by Grace Ellis – Not as good as the first one but still pretty good. It was all about being brave for others but I can also spot some subplot lines I would be interested in following in vol 3.

My July TBR game only has one book left on it after Unashamed and How to Be Both. Yay! Which is The Raven King but I also have an e-ARC left from June… ops!

until next time
