WWW Wednesday – 18th August 2021

I finished a book!!! 😂

Welcome to my WWW Wednesday meme post, originally hosted by Taking in a World of Words. All I need to do is answer the three questions below which all start with a W.

The three W’s are
  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll be reading next?

The Fair Fight by Anna Freeman – Set in the 1799 era following female boxers and I’m halfway. So far it’s ok. There are more POVs than expected and a distinct lack of boxing focus but I hope it picks up. I think I’m super critical to the book because im not a historical fiction fan. And no progress since last week. I’m loosing interest really.

Assassin’s Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy #1) by Robin Hobb – Just over halfway now. It’s slow progress but still progress.

Velvet Was the Night by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – almost finished this one. I think I’ll finish it tonight or maybe during lunch hour. It’s very interesting and compelling read. Still it’s historical fiction but the plot is centred around a missing person and it’s noir so there’s some tension at least.

The Girl and The Dinosaur by Holly Hughes – not sure about this book. It’s very short but the synopsis promised me a masterpiece of storytelling but I got so hung up on the font choices that it ruined everything for me 🤷‍♀️

My August TBR and TBR game was a fun round. I been waiting for my favourite readathon TomeTopple to have an announcement. But TomeTopple seems not to be happening this month which is sad. I found another readathon for this weekend called a 1000 door readathon. Never done it but it’s sounds like a choose your own adventure readathon and I have no idea what prompts will occur or which books to read for it. But I have two reads left on my TBR which needs to be read ASAP.

until next time

    1. Yeah I’m enjoying it atm. It’s was a bit slow in the beginning but the writing is really enjoyable and I really like where it’s going. But it’s not an all-consuming book so I can go a few days between picking it up 🤷‍♀️
