October TBR and reading plan 2021

Preptober month!

September was a rush. I’m not sure where it went and I’m still trying to edit all the vlogs I made (or have footage for).

October is Preptober to me. This is the month I focus a lot of my energy of prepping for NaNoWriMo in November both physically and mentally and story wise. Im considering having productivity sprints on my YT channel at some point in October if anyone is interested.

I do not have any readthons planned even though I saw a TomeTopple announcement like yesterday. Readathons in October is a bad idea and I’m speaking from experience. I end up starting November completely confused and disorganised. Not good.

I also don’t have any bookclub books in October though i do have one for November which I might read in October instead. i dont know yet. It wont be before i finish my actual TBR anyway.

I played my fourth round of Ring of TBR this month. I introduced some new rules and it totally backfired on me. I’ve imbedded that video at the end of this post if you are interested but for now lets just talk about the books. I ended up with 13 books on my TBR 😱

Let’s dive in!

The links will take you to their GoodReads page for each book. If the book doesn’t have a GoodReads page, the link will take you to their Amazon page. They are not affiliated links.

Vespertine by Margareth RogersonRing of TBR – I’ve just started this and I like it as expected. I have enjoyed every Margaret Rodgerson book I’ve ever read so I’m glad this one is satisfactory too even though I’m only 4% in. I’m still not sure whats it’s about but it’s due out in the UK on 5th October.

Far From The Light of Heaven by Tade Thompson Video Project – a Sci-fi novel from the author of Rosewater. I have not read Rosewater but I’ve been curious about it for a while. I hope to get to it soon. Due out in the UK 28th October

Under The Whispering Door by TJ Klune Ring of TBR – after TJ Klune’s previous book this is a tad hyped so I hope it is cozy. Apparently, this follows someone who just died and their “life” in the halfway house before the afterlife. Due out in the UK on 28th October.

Namesake (Fable #2) by Ariadne Young – I loved the first book so I requested the second when I saw it. Publication date UK 22nd June 2021. Still haven’t gotten to this…

The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey NiffeneggerRing of TBR – I expecting an emotional and long book. Not sure what else to expect. But as the title suggest this is about the wife of a time traveller and how they meet and lived while he was out travelling.

The Inquisition (Summoners #2) by Taran MatharuRing of TBR – continuing the series with the second instalment. I think I remember who the first one ended so I shouldn’t need a refresher, but this is a pokemon inspired fantasy with monsters instead of pokemon and I loved the first one. So happy to continue the series.

The Sound of the Seas (The Earthend Saga #3)by Gillian Anderson & Jeff RovinRing of TBR – finally reading the end of this series and I can’t wait! It’s not the most amazing series but i have been enjoying it.

Murder on Monday by Dan Turell Ring of TBR – an old book on my TBR gifted to me from my dad. I dont know much about it apart from it being a crime novel. It might even be a series and if so i doubt he was kind enough to give me the first one. He probably gave me the most relevant one. Whatever that means.

Skyward (Skyward #1) by Joe HendersonRing of TBR – I know nothing about this graphic novel apart from the fact that it has low gravity. Thats all I know.

Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig RiceRing of TBR – a First Nationer dystopian novel set in one remote village. Then the southerners arrive and it gets tense. Thats as much as i know about this but im intrigued.

I also have 1 mood pick and 2 video project reads to get too…

TBR GAME Video – Ring of TBR!

Have you read any of these? What did you think?

What’s on your TBR?

Happy reading!
